History – Friskies ALPO Canine Frisbee Disc Champions Set to Soar at 25th Anniversary World Finals

I was messing around with the Apture search bar that we just added to PVybe.com and searched for “Kimo Frisbee” and look what I came up with:

Marking the historic 25th anniversary of the sport of canine frisbee, the World Finals will be held on the Washington Monument grounds in Washington, D.C., on Sept. 18 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., attracting international attention and an estimated crowd of more than 15,000.

Over the past quarter of a century, the Canine Frisbee(R) disc Championships have grown into a world-renowned competition that highlights the athletic skills and special bond shared between dog and owner.

This year, the event celebrates the legendary canine Ashley Whippet, who 25 years ago catapulted this backyard pastime of “toss and fetch” into an internationally followed sport thanks to his ability to run 40 miles an hour and leap nine feet off the ground to catch a Frisbee(R) disc.
